Why only three? Barkley's behavioral inhibition model + Gollwitzer's 94-study meta-analysis agree: naming a small number of specific tasks with time context roughly doubles follow-through. A full backlog triggers avoidance. Three tractable tasks with time blocks create implementation intentions. That's the mechanism.
